The purpose of this page is to allow members of Group P of the Rose Family Association DNA Project — and genealogists researching these families — to more easily share and understand their test results.  
UPDATE:  Now that new administration of the FTDNA Rose DNA Project has made the project results public, there is little need for me to continue to maintain these pages.  In particular, Sheila Schmutz has an excellent web page on these Group P ROSEs.  Please see her site for recent developments.

GD = Genetic Distance, the number of mutation events separating two haplotypes.  The GDs are given at each testing level (i.e., 12 markers, 25 markers, etc.) and the values are cumulative.

The above individuals form a tightly matched family with an uncommon haplotype.  I found no matches at Ysearch, even when I relaxed the match level to 10/12 or 23/25.  Their highest match in surname ROSE at SMGF was only 18/26, and the differences were nearly all at signature markers
We don't have an actual modal value for DYS511 because the three who have tested to 67 markers each has a different value.  Because 10 is the modal value for Haplogroup R1b and because 9 and 11 are each one mutation event away from 10, I'm going to assume, for now, that 10 will turn out to be modal for the family, mainly because it is the most parsimonious assumption (meaning it requires the fewest mutation events to explain the current values, so it is probably the actual situation).
It bothers me that #93139 does not match the family on two signature markers.  And it bothers me because, when you have a near match, it makes a big difference whether the mis-matches are simply "private" mutations, as in the case of #22995, #8002, and #116117 or whether the mis-matches are on signature markers, as they are with #93139.  But the haplotype is rare, so what it may mean is that we're looking at an early branch in the family tree and that, as more people are tested and paper genealogy advanced, we'll be able to find the fork in the tree.

For 25 markers: 21 or less is a non-relative; for 22-25 markers,
For 37 markers: 31 or less is a non-relative; for 32-37 markers,
For 67 markers: 59 or less is a non-relative; for 60-67 markers,
For 111 markers: 100 or less is a non-relative; for 101-111 markers,
